To solve this issue, it’s packed with a camera that allows you to see what’s below the drone. It’s an anti-crash drone that bypasses obstacles in any direction, less downward. If your drone flies backward, this device turns 180 degrees to maintain your drone’s safety. It comes with a 360-degree obstacle avoidance device that points in the direction the drone flies. Nevertheless, it’s a sturdy drone for being a light foldable quadcopter. It’s almost the size of the Mavic 3 but weighs less than the DJI Air 2S. It’s made with top-quality standards, making it a long-term tool. So this drone has nothing to envy dominant brands like DJI or Autel. While it does support the creation of documents that combine text and math, the math is in Mathematica syntax rather than looking more like equations we can intuitively grasp, as MathCad provides.Īt this point, needing the math capability of Mathematica but wanting the syntax and ease-of-use of MathCad, I decided to try Maple, which I understood to be a MathCad "parent". However, its ideosyncratic syntax (basically, you need to learn an entirely different set of "rules" for things like parentheses, square and curly brackets, upper and lower case) gave it an extremely steep (and rocky!) learning curve, not something I would want to turn to for a simpler problem. This definitely has all of the "power" that I could imagine, particularly in the "solving" arena (which is where MathCad had let me down). So I bit the bullet and tried Mathematica. However, the MathCad at the time (12? 13? I'm not sure) didn't seem up to the task. I needed to be able to "point it at data", like MatLab, but needed more sophisticated math ability, like MathCad. For doing the "number-crunching", involving multiple files and megabytes of data, I used MatLab, as I found it easier to handle the "point the program at the following directory and let 'er rip" with MatLab than with MathCad.Ī number of years ago, I started working on an even more complicated problem involving vector-like objects in a six-dimensional space. I used MathCad to develop and test the equations to take the signals (voltages) and convert them (through multiple steps, including getting "scaling" information from other files) into a series of three components representing roll, pitch, and yaw (these eventually were converted to rotation vectors). For example, I might want to know the 3-D orientation of an object (roll, pitch, yaw), given voltages measured by coils fixed to the object inside a stationary magnetic field. In some cases, complicated calculations involving these data needed to be performed. I needed something that would let me express mathematics to do some simple analysis, make a few plots (for my own edification and for teaching purposes), and, most important, would let me create documents that combined text, math (meaning equations, usually), and graphics that could be used for teaching or other didactic purposes.Īt a certain point, I needed to analyze a lot of data, often multi-channel analog samples from a variety of sources. Here are some considerations that I've used. It really depends on what you need to do in deciding which system is "best". I've used all of the "M" systems (MathCad, MatLab, Mathematica, and Maple). But given that both GIMP and Krita are free, this doesn’t have to be an either/or decision. If after a few hours you don’t like it, you can try other free software, or consider biting the bullet and paying for software like Corel Painter, Adobe Photoshop or Affinity Photo.Īs free image editing software goes, GIMP is more versatile – if you want to edit photos as well as do digital drawing then it’s a better overall package (see our GIMP review for more on that). Like GIMP, it’s free, so there’s no downside to giving it a whirl. If you want a good piece of software for digital painting and illustration, Krita is definitely worth downloading and trying out, especially if you haven’t paid for any software yet. If you select a lot of colours for a complex gradient, you can also have the software automatically sort them by brightness or by hue with one click. You can open up the Gradients tool to design your own bespoke Gradient, quickly select a few colour stops, and move them along the bar in accordance with how dominant you want one colour or another to be. This is especially useful for quick design work like knocking up graphics for social media. Improved gradients: creating and using gradients has also been improved for Krita 5.0, and it's really easy to do. Bear in mind that this doesn’t work with the Advanced Colour Wheel you need to have the Palette Docker open. This is especially good if you want to try out a few colour variations in quick succession. Krita now lets you drag a colour straight from the Docker to an element or layer. This is really intuitive, and much less fiddly than trying to rotate the shape afterwards using the Transform tools.ĭrag and drop colours: this one's a useful time-saver. When you’re using a create tool to make a shape like an ellipse or a rectangle, you can hold Ctrl-Alt to rotate the shape with the stylus as you’re drawing it. The grid can be really handy as it helps you visualise how perspective will affect different objects you’re drawing, as well as creating discrete units of distance you can use to check that everything’s in the right place.Ĭreate/rotate shapes: this is a small addition but it’s neat. You can edit the vanishing points, move the guidelines around, or limit the area that they affect – which is handy if you want to keep your perspective drawing to a certain area of the canvas (e.g. It allows you to create perspective guides by placing down perspective points and overlaying a grid onto your canvas, which you can then snap brushes to in order to make sure your lines are just right. The latest edition of Krita has a few useful new tools, so let’s take a look at some of the highlights:Ģ-point perspective assistant: this is a cool new feature that makes it easier to draw using perspective. You can also group layers, and easily copy them from one project to another. “shading”, “lines”, “blue” or whatever else. You can filter your layers by name to quickly navigate to the one you want – e.g. It’s helpful without being intrusive.Īnd if you’re one for working with plenty of Layers, Krita offers a few good quality-of-life tools that make that easier. If you’re the type of person who often accidentally selects the wrong tool (hands up here), Krita has a knack for knowing it, and will pop up a little message explaining that you probably want, e.g. It’s the little things that make a difference. Unlike those programs, feeling your way around learning to use Krita is actually fun, and doesn’t feel like smashing your head against a brick wall. The main Toolbar sits on the left of the canvas, and you can add windows (Krita calls them “Dockers”) to the right-hand side when you want to pick colours, brushes, or whatever else. In terms of user-friendliness, I'd say Krita is a little less intimidating than Photoshop – though it doesn’t have Photoshop’s comprehensive guided tutorials – and it also makes more of an effort to be comprehensible than GIMP. The Krita interface is simple, effective and well laid out. But let’s be real, the real MVP in this dish is the onion soup mix. The connection of Shiva and meditation invokes interest in a permanent recall factor. People find strong-rooted emotions in their life with this symbolism and the philosophy of "Shaivism". There is a significant mention of this, as Shiva is said to be inseparable from Shakti – "Parvati". Lord Shiva is believed to be a unique symbol of masculine and feminine energies as the "Ardhanareshwara" avatar. The "Mahakaal" destroys everything and "Shankara" reproduces the same into something new. There is a striking contrast in Shiva's personalities and various avatars. The nature of destruction is cyclic in nature as it leads to recreation and then follows the same path time and again. He is one of the Hindu Trinity – Bramha, Vishnu, and Mahesh. Does "Shaivism" play an important role in people's lives? Lord Shiva is the representation of the "Great God" or "Mahadeva". I personally only closely read the “Today from AdExchanger” and the “News Round Up” sections. The daily newsletter is broken into sections. I decided to scrape the text from every AdExchanger newsletter I’ve received since the end of November 2011 and see what trends I could find in word usage. The idea of trying to quantify the word usage and topics that have been popular in ad tech through the years really interested me. Over the years, I’ve noticed anecdotal trends in word usage and topics. They have since been my main source for following the industry. I started subscribing to AdExchanger’s daily newsletters in late 2011. Ideas ebb and flow, topics come into style very quickly and dominate the industry conversation, while other topics fall out of favor just as fast. Only a small number of media outlets cover our industry, largely because it’s so niche, and the result is a relatively small number of people owning a large amount of the discourse.
